The original photograph was rather small at only 1 1/2" tall. It was also very dark with some surface scratching and lint adhered to it. It had been mounted in a picture frame with an oval mat over it, so there is some difference in the exposure of the covered portion of the photo. Also, the photo had been trimmed on one side, so the right side portion needed to be generated. When the photo restoration was complete, we were able to provide a print that looked good at 8" x 12".
During the photograph restoration, the shadows in the photo were lightened considerably, details in the shadow were recovered, the scratches were repaired then the missing right side of the photograph were created.
We offered the customer two versions of the photograph. One version was the original black and white, the other was with some light color added. They preferred the color version.

The original photograph was extremely dark and the original print was missing in some sections and was peeling back in other spots. There was also some heavy scratching over most of the photograph.
During the photograph restoration, the shadows in the photo were lightened considerably, details in the shadow were recovered, the scratches were repaired and the missing portions of the photograph were created and filled in.

The original version of this photograph was on a hard backing board that was warped and measured 16" wide x 24" tall. It was a bit faded, however the main issue was the water damage.
Due to the size of the original we began this photo restoration by taking a digital photograph of the original. We then began replacing the water damaged portions of the image. We color corrected the reflection in the water, lightened the top of the image and added a little color to the sky.
